Chief Executive Officer
Brian Allen has been instrumental in the strategic development of a number of successful IT software and service companies. Brian was appointed a director of Certus Solutions in 2005. He holds a BS (Distinction) in Public Accounting from St Cloud University in Minnesota, USA and did post-graduate studies in Management Information Systems at the University of Minnesota.
Liz Stephens (CA) is GM Finance of Certus, with responsibility for Finance. She brings to Certus many years of financial management experience in a variety of corporate environments including WhereScape Software and Wolters Kluwer. During her career, Liz has been a change agent and successfully implemented new software systems in finance, CRM and HR.
GM People and Performance Manager A/NZ
Penny Miller, is responsible for strategic and operational functions across Australia and New Zealand. Penny has returned to Certus to take the lead in the HR area. Prior to returning to Certus she was HR Manager of one of the Bay of Plenty’s largest tertiary institutes. Previously Penny was HR Director at one of New Zealand's largest law firms. She has also held senior HR management positions in several professional consultancy firms within the educational and accounting sectors.
Country Manager, New Zealand
Lee Eglinton spent 10 years in senior business development and consulting services roles at IBM. She also established IBM’s New Zealand Business Analytics and Optimisation practice. As Country Manager Lee is responsible for the strategy and execution of the New Zealand Business Plan as well as coordinating the lines of business to deliver sophisticated solutions capabilities to New Zealand clients. She graduated from the University of Auckland with a BCom.
Maarten van der Zeyden
Director/Solutions Director, Asset & Industry Portfolio
Maarten van der Zeyden has a background in transforming asset and infrastructure businesses using effective technologies to deliver enhanced practices. He is on the Certus board of directors and is also responsible for the Enterprise Asset Management and Industry Solutions portfolios. Maarten holds an engineering degree from the University of Auckland and is certified in a range of IBM software solutions.
Solutions Director, IM/Finance Portfolio
Julien Redmond has responsibility for the Certus Information Management and Business Analytics practices. With more than a decade of experience in this field, Julien is a thought leader in the areas of big data, predictive analytics, trusted data management and information governance.
James has travelled the globe for the last 25 years: designing, delivering, and supporting data-driven insight solutions for hundreds of clients; from major enterprises to small businesses and startups. James is a firm believer that data, correctly organised, adds value to any industry problem; as he has proven in his previous roles at News Corp, Acxiom, and GE Money across publishing, finance, retail, high tech, and utilities. James is a recognised speaker and podcaster on the subject of data: sharing his knowledge, insight, and enthusiasm with anyone who will listen.
Digital Solutions Specialist
Shane has an extensive entrepreneurial and consulting background in technology and IT. Driven to realise a dream of making business problem solving and software development intuitive, he co-founded Core Technology, an award-winning software development company which was then acquired by Certus in 2016. Shane is a natural entrepreneur combining a consultative leadership style and a passion for excellence. Shane is uncompromising about using technology to serve people and radically improve process and productivity.
As Certus Portfolio Director Craig is responsible for driving our innovation initiatives. Craig has over 20 years IT and telecommunications experience providing strategic direction, driving revenue growth and overseeing commercial and operational matters. Previously Craig was CEO of Sush Mobile, a NZ-based enterprise mobility provider and prior to that, Head of Mobile Products with Spark New Zealand where he led the development and delivery of product strategy for Spark NZ’s mobile portfolio. He has a wealth of international experience with companies such as BT and Telstra also in senior management roles.

Michael has gained over 20 years’ experience in the Asset Centric Industries. He combines his consultative approach, and a deep knowledge of IBM, and emerging technologies to create unique and innovative business solutions that deliver competitive advantage. Based in New Zealand, but with an international outlook, he have taken on transformative projects for numerous international organisations, with a proven record of success.
